Eldin & Forest Province

Eldin Province and the Great Hyrule Forest region form most of Hyrule's northern border, stretching from Hebra in the west to the border of Akkala in the east. The region is home to the Gorons, who live on Death Mountain. The western part of the region is dominated by the Great Hyrule Forest, a murky and mysterious place that cannot seem to be entered. Whenever someone enters the forest, they inevitably find themselves returned, unharmed, to the entrance.

During the Calamity era, Death Mountain was in a state of constant eruption. The extreme heat caused non-Gorons to erupt into flames unless they were wearing special fireproof gear. After Vah Rudania was calmed, the volcano stopped erupting and most of the southern mountain can be crossed with only mild discomfort. Caves and mineshafts still burrow deep enough into Death Mountain to ignite non-Gorons who enter. Shortly before the Upheaval, YunoboCo took over all mining operations in Eldin. They have multiple mining camps throughout the region, employing Gorons, Hylians, and the occasional Gerudo to assist in mining stone, precious gems, and rock roasts from within the caves. Their headquarters is just north of Goron City.

Goron City
Goron City can be found on the western ascent of Death Mountain. It is primarily a mining outpost, but has grown over time to provide more services and amenities to outsiders. During the Calamity era, the city was uninhabitable to anyone except Gorons due to the extreme heat. During this period, the Gorons became accustomed to almost never seeing visitors. When the Calamity ended and people began arriving again, the Gorons had to quickly adjust.

The city is located uphill from the Southern Mine, headquarters for Mine-Cart Land, which connects all major points of interest on Death Mountain via minecart. Several lines stop in Goron City, near the mountain carvings of ancient Goron heroes – including the Goron Champion Daruk. YunoboCo's construction of the minecart routes has significantly sped up production around the mountain, and Goron City has grown because of it.

Goron City has plenty to provide to people stopping in. They have the Rollin' Inn, which features not only beds, but Goron massages. The Goron Gusto Shop sells all manner of fire and rock-related things, while Ripped and Shredded is a clothing store selling fireproof clothing necessary for entering the many caves on the mountain.

The Goron boss, Bludo, can be found at the top of the hill, usually complaining about his back.
