Lanayru Province

Lanayru Province is a mountainous region along the eastern coast of Hyrule. It borders multiple other provinces, including Akkala to the north, Eldin to the northwest, Central Hyrule to the west, and Necluda to the south. Lanayru is home to the Zora, an aquatic race of people ruled by King Sidon. Along its southernmost border is Mount Lanayru, site of the Spring of Wisdom and one of the tallest mountains in Hyrule.

Lanayru is the source of all freshwater rivers and lakes in eastern Hyrule. Wellspring Island, in the skies above Zora's Domain, magically creates an endless supply of clean water, which falls to Mipha Court on the mountains below. From Mipha Court, the water empties into Zora's Domain, the East Reservoir, and Toto Lake, which drain outward toward all regions of Hyrule except Hebra and Gerudo.

During the Calamity era, the Divine Beast Vah Ruta began overproducing water and threatened to flood the rest of Hyrule. The Lanayru wetlands bordering Central Hyrule contain multiple ruined villages from this period. Fortunately, the divine beast was calmed before further damage downriver could occur, though the East Reservoir was nearly full for the first time in history.

Zora's Domain

Zora's Domain is a massive city built atop the Zora Basin. It's connected to the rest of Hyrule by the second-largest bridge in Hyrule, the Zora Great Bridge. Zora architecture centres around the idea of inspiring awe with gentle, serene looking structures on a large scale, which describes the city perfectly.

The domain's central feature is a gigantic statue of Lord Jabu Jabu. Stairs from the lower city ascend into the fish's mouth and King Sidon's throne room. Water flows into the city from each side, gently running down pathways and stairs to filter through the Zora living and sleeping areas. Most of the residential areas for the Zora are in the lower reaches of the city, beneath the water as it is more comfortable for them.

The domain's central plaza has a statue of Link riding King Sidon to commemorate the two calming Vah Ruta during the Calamity. Multiple artisans and builders circle this central plaza, along with the other shops. The Zora provide all necessary amenities to visitors, including multiple shops, craftsmen, restaurants, and even the Seabed Inn, which offers the "Blissful Water Bed" for big spenders.
