Faron Province

Faron Province makes up most of the uninhabited southern wetlands and shoreline of Hyrule. It's known for containing Lurelin Village, a small town along the southeastern shore funded mostly by tourism. Other major attractions in the region are Lake Hylia, the largest body of water in Hyrule, with the largest bridge in Hyrule spanning it. Central Faron has a dense jungle full of Zonai ruins, but is mostly travelled to so people can see the Floria Falls. The region around Lurelin Village has many beaches and calm ocean, and attracts tourists from all around Hyrule to visit it or Eventide Isle, a getaway location off the eastern coast.

Though they weren't the only Zonai ruins in Hyrule, Faron's jungle ruins were the most easily-accessible before the Upheaval, and attracted all manner of historians to the region. Once the Upheaval revealed Zonai sky islands above Hyrule- including the Thunderhead Isles above Faron- even more ruins emerged in the region. Members of the Zonai Survey Team can often be found in the region, though its relative inaccessibility makes the trek from the Highland or Lakeside Stables difficult.

Lurelin Village is the primary settlement in the region, but its location in the far southeastern reaches of the province keep it isolated from most events elsewhere in Faron. Click the spoiler tag below the map to learn more about it.

Lurelin Village
Lurelin Village is an isolated fishing village on the southern coast of Hyrule. Its isolated location, separated from most of Hyrule by mountains or jungle, allowed it to be largely left alone during the Calamity era. People who arrived in the village during that time often stayed, citing a chance at a peaceful existence as the main reason.

Shortly after the Upheaval, a large force of monsters attacked Lurelin Village. They sailed into the bay on a pirate ship and began ransacking the village. Most villagers fled during this time, settling as far away as Hateno and Gerudo Villages. Most structures in the village were either burned or torn down, and the monsters revelled in the destruction until they were eventually dispatched. Bolson and the village elder, Rozel, took advantage of the newfound safety in the region and put together money and supplies to rebuild the village. Once it was rebuilt and the villagers returned, tourists from the rest of Hyrule began to return as well.

With an influx of new tourism visiting the local beaches and Eventide Isle, Lurelin's village leadership took advantage of the situation and Bolson's construction expertise. Working with Zonai vehicle racers from Tarrey Town, they built an ocean race course on Korne Beach. The village has also reinvested into the amenities they provide to travellers and residents alike. They have an inn called the Fishing Resort, several shops, and games. During seasonal festivals, a night market will open up on the pier, with multi-coloured lights and stalls set up on docked longboats.
