Citizens of Hyrule,

For millennia, Hyrule Castle Town served a vital role in connecting the provinces of Hyrule. Travellers crossing the great distances that separated them from others could feel safe in the knowledge that Castle Town's stalwart presence in Hyrule's heart held danger at bay. Our great inns and stores granted those passing through recovery, so they could continue on their long journeys refreshed. Our coach and carriage services were second to none, with regular lines to anywhere in the kingdom. Master craftspeople and artists created great works to share with everyone.

The Calamity forced us to the farthest reaches of Hyrule. With the forces of malice holding our heart, it was too unsafe to travel. We grew distant from one another, removed from what united us. A Hylian from Necluda might never see the beautiful mountains of Hebra, or the inspiring vistas of the Gerudo Highlands. For a century, we've been cut off from one another, forced to scramble for survival on our own until first Calamity Ganon, and then the Demon King of legend, were defeated once and for all. With Hyrule safe once more, we now turn our eyes toward taking back and rebuilding our homes.

Hudson Construction has been contracted to assist in rebuilding our capital city, Hudson and his team have proven capable and trustworthy, working these past five years to clear the debris and reclaim the ruins much of Hyrule had become. They've repaired our bridges and roads, but the task that now faces us is of a daunting scale. It will require as many hands as we can gather.

I hereby call upon all worthy volunteers to travel to Hyrule Castle Town. If you lack the strength to build, do not worry, for we need all sorts. Construction assistance yes, but also cooks, cleaners, doctors and artisans. We will require not only those who can wield tools, but also those who can repair them. Our aim is not only to rebuild our city, but also to rebuild the bonds that once tied us together.

Together, we will rebuild Castle Town to become once more the gleaming jewel of Hyrule. More than just a city, it will become a symbol of our resilience, showing that we have overcome our kingdom's darkest years and that our brightest era is just ahead of us. Victory will be all the sweeter knowing that we accomplished it together, a reunited people of Hyrule. I look forward to meeting you, and getting to know all of you.

With Love,
Zelda
Queen of Hyrule

It's time for The Sinking Lure's first major event, rebuilding Hyrule Castle Town! Players can participate with as many characters as they like, though the reward can only be claimed once per player. Every player who participates will be rewarded with a piece of Ancient or Zonai technology of their choice. This could be a Zonai-style artificial limb, an ancient weapon, or even a custom-designed vehicle complete with recharging batteries. The piece of tech can be claimed on any character, even if they didn't participate in the event, which means that a future character could be designed around starting with something if that's what you want.

Intermittently through the event, opportunities will arise for players to decide what will be built. These choices will permanently affect Hyrule Castle Town as it becomes a new central hub for players in the future. By having a say in what sorts of shops, landmarks, and homes get built, everyone will be able to create the Upheaval-era Castle Town they want to see.

An event thread will open up on March 1st, 2024, and will continue through the month. This gives everyone a couple weeks to figure out which characters will be participating, or to create a new one they'd like use. I hope to see you all there!

Edit: This event has ended as of March 31, 2024. Thank you so much everyone who participated, this was a great success and I'm so happy! As promised, the following players have earned themselves a custom-designed piece Zonai or Ancient Sheikah tech. This can be a weapon, armour, clothing, vehicle, or item of any variety, as long as it isn't god-like overpowered and seems feasibly Zonai or Ancient Sheikah in design.
