Hebra Province

Hebra Province forms the northwestern border of Hyrule, and is separated from the rest of the continent by the Tanagar Canyon. It is almost all cold, with the Hebra mountain range in the northwest consistently recording the coldest temperatures in all of Hyrule. Because of the cold and inaccessibility of the mountains, Hebra is also one of the least-settled regions.

Hebra is separated into two regions:  the Hebra Mountains in the far northwest, and the outlying Tabantha Frontier curving around the mountains from south to east. Rito Village is the primary settlement in the region, built around a rock spire rising out of Lake Totori. Because of its central position and the nearby Trailhead Lodge, Rito Village is considered to border both regions.

Hebra Province was mostly untouched during the Calamity, with only Tabantha Village in the eastern frontier being destroyed. During the Upheaval era, however, the normally-temperate Rito Village and southern Tabantha Frontier were hit by constant blizzards and freezing temperatures. The arrival of the Stormwind Ark in the skies above Hebra Peak, coinciding with an end to the blizzard, is a sign of reassurance to the Rito that the emergency has passed.

Rito Village
Rito Village is the home of the Rito people. The village can be reached via a series of bridges connecting different islands in Lake Totori. Rito Village itself is built around a spire rising from one of these islands. A walkway spirals around the exterior of the spire, with small wooden homes and landings branching off of the pathway. During the final months of the Calamity, the Divine Beast Vah Medoh perched atop the spire. It, along with all other divine beasts, shut down after the events of the Calamity, and was recycled into new Sheikah technology.

Rito Village has most services available for travellers, including shops like The Slippery Falcon, which sells food that can't be found in the wild, and the Brazen Beak, which sells cold-weather clothing necessary for treks into the Hebra Mountains. It also has an inn called Swallow's Roost with Rito-down beds for extra comfort. Kaneli, the former village elder, runs the nearby flight range, where young Rito and travellers can train their archery skills.

Rito Village is run by its village elder, Teba.
