#1
Ariadne

Name: Ariadne
Pronouns: She/Her
Race: Hylian
Class: Apprentice Healer

Appearance: Ariadne would describe herself as a fairly average example of the most average race in Hyrule. She's a 24 year old Hylian with an average build, though maybe a little on the thin side. She has short, messy brown hair and green eyes. She prefers to wear masculine-presenting clothing, though it's more of a comfort and fashion thing for her than purposeful gender non-conformity. After all, there's no point in wearing something pretty when you're working with horses all day. She often travels with a very large backpack containing her notebooks, random grasses and herbs, and a very outdated medical text from before the Calamity, obtained from a passing book merchant for an embarrassing amount of rupees.

Notes:
  • Ariadne hails from Snowfield Stable in Tabantha, having spent her entire life there.
  • Ariadne has never met a Goron or a Gerudo!
  • She was inspired to learn medicine at a young age, and has studied with nearby Rito healers.
  • She's recently been accepted to study with the Zora, to learn healing from them.
  • After studying with the Zora, she plans on visiting the Sheikah to learn traditional medicine.
  • Ariadne has a secret fascination with potions and shamanistic practices.
  • She doesn't really know how to get "witchy vibes", but hopes to learn someday.
  • Ariadne is oddly fearless- prone to jump scares, but will put herself in harm's way to help someone.

#2
Ekik

Name: Ekik
Pronouns: He/Him

Appearance: Ekik is a somewhat tall and lanky Rito, though his posture gives a sense of pride his accomplishments may not have earned. His plumage is a mixture of golds, grey-blues, and white, bordering his face with a heart-shaped, dark gold ring. His face is somewhat flat, with pure white plumage and a beak of the same colour, only broken by two large, black eyes.

Ekik's uncommon appearance, along with his distant and detached behaviour, almost make him seem alien, no matter where he is. He often wears comfortable cloth clothing, preferring white and gold colouring, over top of which he usually wears a long coat with many pockets and hanging vials. For samples.

Notes:
  • Ekik was directionless before the Upheaval, but seemed to find himself and his calling on his first visit to the Depths. Ever since, he enjoys spending time there researching the various unique flora and, to a lesser extent, the dangerous effects gloom has on creatures.
  • He is an accomplished sorcerer, able to defend himself with magic, though he prefers to observe and remain hidden.
  • He has excellent night vision, allowing him to traverse most parts of the Depths without needing to draw attention to himself.
  • Despite it being his focus and "calling", Ekik has only been in the Depths two previous times, and is currently on his third- solo- expedition. He is alone because he technically isn't supposed to be down here. But he was only allowed to come down here twice, and sometimes science requires its greatest minds to be daring.

  • Ekik's appearance is based on the American Barn Owl, specifically this one.

    Threads

  • Delving Deeper: While studying the humble puffshroom and skilfully avoiding Yiga, Ekik spies a distant balloon. He rushes to help. There, he finds Gao, the occupant of the balloon, and Sin, stalking around the Depths. While he and Sin hide away from the Yiga, Gao attempts to negotiate with the bandits in an attempt to get them to leave. Unfortunately, with the arrival of Claria, things prove not to be quite so easy as they had hoped.

#3
Reverie

Name: Reverie
Pronouns: She/Her

Appearance: If asked this question, Reverie wouldn't really know what to say. She grew up in a place where appearance was much less important than the skills someone could bring to bear, so she's never really thought about it. She's in her late 20s, about average height for a Hylian. Her pale blue hair reaches to her mid-back, but is usually kept up in plaits. Her eyes are a pale lavender.

She wears armour passed down to her from her mother, who received it from her mother, who received it from hers. Though the original fabrics have long since faded and been replaced, the original metal has been obsessively maintained. Her grandmother was a Knight-Captain at Hyrule Castle in the years before the Calamity, and worked to lead a group of survivors out into Hebra. The armour carries many scratches and scars, but it also carries a certain sense of responsibility and purpose. The sleeveless tabard over the armour is dark blue, with gold piping and the golden crest of Hyrule over the chest and back, replicated as the old tabard had faded. She also wears a basic metal spangenhelm in the style of Hylian knights. It used to have a horsehair mohawk element to it, but that's long-since fallen away.

Notes::
  • Reverie also wields her great-grandfather's service longsword. The blade has been replaced, but the hilt and scabbard are original.
  • Reverie earned the right to use the historical armour and longsword by proving herself during a bokoblin invasion during the Upheaval.
  • Reverie once participated in a group slaying of a Moblin that had begun harassing their hunters.
  • Though she's somewhat proficient in hunting, Reverie has historically been more comfortable with guard duty, which she's performed since she was 14.
  • During a supply run to Rito Village, Reverie saw Queen Zelda's missive, and was inspired to see this new, safer world and make it safe again.
  • Survival in the Hebra mountains required competence and hard work. Reverie was trained in swordfighting by her grandparents and other members of the community.

  • Living next to the Rito, Reverie's family got into hawk training. She has her own Islander Hawk named Valour, who helps her scout out areas. He's a very good bird.

Threads

  • Rebuilding Castle Town (Event Thread) - Reverie and co. arrive on site as Zelda begins leading a coalition rebuilding Castle Town. Reverie's first real encounter with another player character is to see Yaku vomiting into a bush. She is learning more every day about how people live here.

  • The Work Continues - Reverie is on guard duty with Claria when she is suddenly attacked from the underbrush!

  • Of Phantom Pains - Reverie and Lucke are hired on as escorts for Axel and Alyson as they attempt to adequately ambulate toward Akkala.

  • Clearing the Air (Event Thread) - After weeks of little sleep and high alert, Reverie and Lucke have found temporary refuge in Tarrey Town. Reverie takes the opportunity to go on a mission to clear her head, while also looking for a more long-term home for the pair, where they cannot be hunted down. She's tasked with assisting a strike force in clearing a heretofore-hidden Sky Temple!

Work in Progress

Sable

Name: Sable Atelia
Pronouns: She/Her
Race: Rito
Class: Brewer/Alchemist

Appearance: With vibrant blues and greens in her plumage, Sable has often joked that she's forced to wear very plain clothes just to keep from overwhelming other people. She's a bit taller than the average Rito, with a slightly hooked beak and blue-grey eyes. She enjoys wearing loose-fitting clothes that drape, sometimes to the floor, usually in neutral or earthy colours, because they handle desert heat better.

Notes:

  • Sable travelled to Gerudo Town to assist with the rebuilding post-Upheaval, and has stayed there for the last several years.
  • Her training was in alchemy, brewing elixirs and coming up with new recipes. Brewing alcohol just kinda happened after a while.
  • While in Gerudo Town, Sable opened up a pub called "No Harm, No Fowl"
  • Now in her 30s, Sable's decided to move her business to Castle Town, such as it is.
  • Her new pub in Castle Town is called "The Dragon's Roost Pub", because she thinks dragons are super neat.

Threads

  • A Bottle Episode - Sable's new Castle Town hotspot is open! On this dark and stormy night, all those in attendance witness a murder most fowl. Is the culprit the bubbly Alyson with her mysteriously-gotten sky-flora? Is it the brooding and on edge Claria? Perhaps the enigmatic, silent Ciel? Or did Sable herself, master of the grand concoction, do the deed? Can they find the culprit before the authorities arrive?

  • The Beaumont Ball (Event Thread) - Through her previously-established connection with Ciel, Sable is offered a job creating drinks for the Beaumont family's housewarming party. She has decided to dress up in suitably-flamboyant fashion.

#5
Allura

Name: Allura of the Eventide
Pronouns: She/Her
Race: Zora
Class: Mage

Appearance: Allura is from a place very far from the regal splendour of Zora's Domain. Along with her strange point of origin comes an equally strange appearance. A large, translucent, bell-shaped hood covers the top of her head, hanging to her shoulders all around. Eight blue and lavender luminescent tendrils hang from the bell to her knees, but are often bundled together behind her shoulders when she interacts with others. After all, they have a nasty sting associated with them and she would hate to accidentally poison someone.

From behind her veil, Allura's appearance is somewhat reminiscent of a Zora, though she appears far more frail and delicate. Paper-white skin covers a body that would appear emaciated by the standards of the surface, and she can often only stand on her own for a couple hours at a time before returning to water. Her midnight-blue eyes have no colour difference between the sclera and the iris, often unsettling the people she speaks to. Her fingers are, as people have been quick to tell her, too long and much too thin (or as they have said, "freaky"). More tendrils travel from her neck, down along her body, before rippling out at her abdomen and becoming a mass of ribbon-like, luminescent threads circling her lower body. While it is clear to an observer that she is a Zora, she has none of the standard elements. No fins, no fishtail, no silver accessories.

Skills: Allura is a spellcaster by trade. She is a capable conduit of magical energies of all types, whether elemental, illusion, or altering the structure of the things around her. While she has knowledge of all magic, her practical expertise is offensive elemental magic, with a particular knack for electricity. She is capable of limited-range telepathy, communicating in images and concepts to a single person or small group within five metres. Her body has a natural bioluminescent quality to it, though it is soft enough that most people don't notice when she is in a lit space. When Allura is agitated or otherwise uncomfortable, the gentle blue glow becomes a much brighter green.

Notes:

  • Allura channels her magic through a long staff wrought from coral. It's an oceanic rainbow of colour, ranging from reds to violets to bright blues. The sharp, angular coral of the staff swirls around its focal point: a gigantic, flawless pearl. When Allura emerged from the ocean, she brought the staff with her, and used it as a walking aid to travel across land when needed to reach Castle Town.

  • Allura enjoys teaching, and has approached Castle Town to work as an instructor in the soon-to-open magic academy. Until then, she has been making a living as a private tutor.

  • Because of her fragile biology, Allura is unable to stand for very long. She commissioned a large, glass container, which she then enchanted to improve its strength. Filled with water, the aquarium takes up a sizeable portion of her home in Castle Town. When she's within the water, she often communicates telepathically with those outside, as they would not be able to hear nor understand her native, underwater tongue.

Ryla

Name: Ryla
Pronouns: They/Them
Race: Goron
Class: Diplomat

We are a proud people. How could we not be? For all of recorded history, we looked down on the rest of Hyrule.

Appearance: Other Gorons would consider Ryla a bit of a runt. Though lacking the constant physical reinforcement of the mining or smithing clans, they still tower above the Hylians with whom they've surrounded themself. Slightly shorter than the average Goron, their lack of size only truly shows in their thinner arms and stomach- they would laugh disarmingly and say that Castle Town's quarry lacks the same flavour as a good rock roast. Like many of their kind, Ryla has brown eyes and white hair, which they keep loose, hanging around their shoulders and down their back.

Having sprung from the earth near a crystal cave, they have growths of ruby-coloured growths in place of eyebrows, along with flecks of various gem-like colourings around their face, though especially built up around the chin and shoulders. These unintentional patterns set them apart from many of their brethren, though crystal-speckled Gorons are merely uncommon, not unheard of, in Goron City.

They take their position seriously as a representative to the Hylians, and have therefore begun wearing clothing to better blend in with their surroundings. A sweeping crimson cloak is pinned in the front with their badge of office: a chiselled steel depiction of the Hylian royal crest over a backdrop of a gear, the Triforce replaced with a hammer. Under it, Ryla wears a humble, dark brown tunic and trousers, though they keep their feet bare. How could they possibly represent their people, much less the Boss, without keeping a solid connection to the ground?

I am not important, but we, the Goron people, are. We have been invaluable to the development and building of Hyrule, as much as any other race.

Notes:
  • Represents the clans and their varied interests to the rest of Hyrule.
  • Has an office in Castle Town near what used to be the Castle District.

#7
Nephthys
Work in Progress

Name: Nephthys
Family Branch: Sabbah
Pronouns: She/Her
Race: Gerudo
Class: Professed of the Goddess

Appearance: Nephthys is most often found in one of two styles of outfit, and it is within that appearance that her beholder's fate will be determined. She spends most of her time in seclusion, being one of a small sect of religious adherents worshipping the Sand Goddess in their temple, built atop what had been the West Gerudo Ruins. While in meditative seclusion, or when travelling to Gerudo Town or Kara Kara Bazaar to restock the temple's supplies, she wears a flowing white gown and keffiyeh, covering her entire body except for amber eyes.

She can also be seen, occasionally, by someone at night. While taking in the moonlight, she has very different vestments, granted to the goddess's chosen. A deep cowl shadows her face, though her eyes have a tendency to glow through it. The cowl is connected to a large, brown mantle covering her arms and torso hanging down to her knees. The rest of her face, along with her arms and legs, are wrapped. On the front of the mantle is a small symbol of the goddess in red and gold.

The tools of her trade are twin long daggers, with handles of pearl, blades of gold, and edges of obsidian. Not designed for combat, they are intended for specific rituals and the fulfilment of her goddess's requests. For she has a higher calling, and must answer it.
